Daily Devotional - July 1, 2025

Good morning, Friends, 

Matthew 6:1-2 - [1]“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. [2] When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.

Yo! Y'all already know we live in a social media crazed society. The world has taken every opportunity to let everyone know their "every" move. 

Exotic dinner? Capture and post. Workout video? Capture and post. Date Night? Capture and post. Emergency room? Capture and post. Giving to those in need? Capture and post. 

Now Friends, there's nothing sinful about capturing wonderful moments and sharing them with the world. However, the sin comes when the heart is intent on being admired by others, seeking to please them and show them how generous you are. Motives matter. Why do we do what we do? Are we seeking the approval of human beings or are we seeking to please God.  

Be careful posting good deeds seeking validation or to boost your self image in the eyes of others. This kind of behavior speaks loudly of insecurity, insincerity, lack of genuineness, and a warped value system. 

Ask yourself, "am I doing this out of love and compassion or to be noticed?"

Take time to truly examine your motives. We all have at some point fallen into this trap. 

Get a grip on reality fam! Drop the act. Serve without bringing attention to yourself. God is the rewarder, and He alone searches the intentions and passions of the heart. Now, that's the true treasure. 

Lastly, remember that God sees every secret aspect of the heart and mind as if it's broadcasting live for him only! Now that's spiritual social media for you!

Your mission... if you choose to accept it, is to humbly do the work of the Lord without desiring to be the center of attention.

    I love how you make the devotional both fun and relevant to modern life. It's important to check our motives when doing anything for God, as He knows our hearts. Seeking approval from others doesn't equate to a good deed in God's eyes. However, if someone's goal is only earthly rewards, they can continue posting and living an unfulfilled life in private.

Daily Devotional - October 29, 2025

  10/29/25 Good morning, Friends,  Luke 22:33–34 (LSB) — “But he said to Him, ‘Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!’ But He said, ‘I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.’” Peter really meant well. His heart was full of passion and loyalty when he told Jesus he’d follow Him anywhere,  even to prison or death. But when the pressure hit, fear took over, and Peter did exactly what he swore he wouldn’t: he denied Jesus three times . This moment reminds us that good intentions aren’t the same as strong faith. Sometimes we’re like Peter, real quick to say, “Lord, I’ll never turn my back on You,” but then life gets real. The heat rises, the crowd’s watching, and suddenly we shrink back. Jesus wasn’t trying to embarrass Peter; He was exposing Peter’s weakness so He could strengthen 💪 him later. God still does that with us today. Devotional Reading - January 1, 2026

  01/01/26 Happy new year and O' happy day! Good morning, Friends,  Luke 17:5 - And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith! In this passage Jesus was teaching His disciples about forgiveness, not the easy kind, but the kind that keeps forgiving even when it’s hard, frustrating, and painful. He was calling them to be patient and long-suffering with people who mess up again and again. The disciples realized real quick that they didn't have enough faith to carry this out on their own. They could've complained, threw a tantrum, got an attitude with Jesus, but the radical part about it is they didn't act fake or make excuses.
