7/28/25

Good morning, Friends,

Psalm 7:1 -O Yahweh my God, in You I have taken refuge;
Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,

David’s not talking about just any god, he’s calling out Yahweh, the personal, covenant-keeping God of Israel. This isn't a general prayer to the universe. Nope! David is saying, “God, you know me. We got history.” David comes out the gate speaking as someone who has a personal relationship with God. "Yahweh, you're not just God, you’re my God."

Refuge means a safe place to run to, like a hiding spot when things get dangerous. David ain’t running to his "status", his "squad", his "mama them", or his weapons. He’s saying: “I ran straight to You, God. You’re where I hide when situations get sticky and there's so much on the line.” This is deep trust. It shows that faith isn’t just belief—it’s action. It’s like saying: “I trust you enough to run to you first, not last.”

David is literally being chased. Enemies want him dead. Let's first get this out of  the way, "we are NOT David". However, we can resonate with certain things David experienced.  We might not have literal enemies chasing us with swords, but we might have people praying on your downfall, drama chasing you day and night, your own past trying to catch up and trap you. David is saying, "Yahweh, I got people, things and problems on my neck. I'm calling  out to you to deliver me.”

If you're in trouble, run to God.
If you're in peace, run to God.
If you're in grief, run to God.
If you're anxious, run to God.
If you've sinned, run to God.

Don't let anything separate you from running to God!!!! He will sort "it" and "you" out!

BELIEVE THAT!
