Good morning, Friends,
1 John 4:18-19 LSB
[18] There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. [19] We love, because He first loved us.
Fear and love don’t live in the same house. Fear says, “God’s gonna get me if I mess up.” But God’s love says, “Jesus already took that punishment for you on the cross.” If you belong to Christ, you don’t have to walk around scared of God dropping the hammer—you’re already covered by His grace.
God’s love came first. He chose you before you ever thought about Him. He ran after you when you were running the other way. That kind of love doesn’t just chase fear out the door, it changes the way you live. Now you obey, not because you’re scared of punishment, but because you’re grateful, because you’re loved, because you’re free.
Ask yourself: Am I serving God out of fear or out of love?
Where in your life are you still letting fear call the shots? Give that to God and remind yourself: “I’m loved because He loved me first.”
Listen friends, in Christ, you’re not on probation, you’re adopted. You don’t have to prove yourself to God; Jesus already did that for you. So walk in love, not in fear. And when fear tries to creep back in, point it to the cross and say, “That debt’s already been paid.”
