Good morning, Friends, 

Hebrews 11:13-16 -13 [13] All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. [14] Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. [15] If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. [16] But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

These verses talk about people in the Bible who trusted God but never got to see all His promises come true while they were alive. Abraham didn’t see the whole nation God promised. Moses never stepped foot in the Promised Land. They believed, even when they didn’t get the results they hoped for. That’s real faith, trusting God not because life works out, but because God is worth trusting.

This kind of faith isn’t something they produced on their own. They didn’t keep believing because they were strong. They kept believing because God kept them and opened their eyes. Once they saw who God was, they realized something life-changing: "this world is not home". They called themselves “foreigners and nomads.” In other words, they were just passing through.

They weren’t living for money, comfort, fame, or trying to build a perfect life on earth. They were waiting for something better, a home God Himself is preparing. The Bible says because they trusted Him like that, God was not ashamed to be called their God. That means He was pleased with their faith, not because they succeeded, but because they kept trusting Him.

Question, are we trying to make life on earth our paradise? Are we chasing comfort, approval, and success like this world is all we’ve got? Or are we trusting God enough to wait for something better?

Friends, if you belong to Jesus, your future is secure. Even if life doesn’t go as you planned, even if you never “arrive,” you’re not missing out. God has something greater waiting for you. You don’t lose by trusting Him, you win by waiting.

Real faith doesn’t cling to this life.
Real faith looks beyond it and clings to God.
