Good morning Friends,

1 Timothy 6:6-8 NLT
[6] Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. [7] After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. [8] So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

In this time, there were apparently people who did not obey the truth of God and believed that practicing religion was a way to make money. Plain schemers!

The Apostle Paul is sharing with Timothy the essence of spiritual wealth. The cataclysmic combination of godliness and contentment is the key. Godly character coupled with quiet satisfaction and peace is clutch and highly underrated!!!

A person who is spiritually lost is often more motivated by material things, than spiritual wealth. True satisfaction comes from godliness, not money, material possessions, business mergers & acquisitions, retro Jordans, lace fronts, bitcoin, expensive restaurants, world travel, low-riders, red-bottoms, or living in high rises.

Be content with the current blessings that you possess. See the beauty in the things that provide the most impact, effortlessly. Oftentimes we overlook the greatest blessings for material ones. Fortify your relationship with God. Cling to and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Spend quality time with God each day. Sacrifice moments of pleasure for moments of spiritual clarity and growth. You will not regret it.

God over money!

  1. "Lace fronts" LOL... Well keeping true to previous devotional "laugher is good for the soul". But on a serious note, getting caught up in the material things of this world is so easy to do when everything around us promotes abundance of "things: and not the one who came to give us life and life more abundantly. Where if we just seek first the kingdom of God HE will give us a fulfilling life which may or may not include "things" but will surly include love, joy, peace, kindness, etc all the way to eternal life.
