Good morning, Friends,
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT
[3] All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. [4] He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
Many of our comrades are experiencing tough times. Some are carrying heavy burdens, and others are experiencing various avenues of hardship. As the Apostle thoughtfully shares his understanding of the human need, he masterfully communicates this truth, "God comforts us. We comfort one another."
Comforting one another begins with the appreciation of the comfort extended to us by God. The result of God's comfort isn't blanketed with providing the answers to all of our prayers. In a deeper display of true comfort, God embraces us with his presence, his love, his understanding, his companionship, and his will. To the person who overlooks these precious moments, they fall into emotional turmoil, but for the one who embraces the comfort of God, they are graced by God to pay it forward. Impacting lives for the Kingdom of God, by the power of God, to the glory of God, in the presence of God.
Do you know someone who is going through a tough time? Someone who needs words of encouragement or prayer? Or maybe someone is just having a rough week, overwhelmed with the complexities of life.
Life is saturated with ebbs and flows, ups and downs, highs and lows, ins and outs, but the Christian life has a sustaining factor that completely changes the playing field. We have the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, who enables us to find purpose and meaning through obstacles all to the glory of God. Sharing this with others in the time of need is essential to mending hearts hanging on by a thread.
Glorify God by being someone's comfort today!

ReplyDeleteAmen! We also need to be open to receive the comfort that others are offering. We sometimes block our own blessings (help) because pride gets in the way of us asking or just being open to receive what is being offered.
