Good morning, Friends, 

Matthew: 6:19-21 -[19] “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. [20] Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. [21] Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

When Jesus spoke about "treasures", he was speaking directly to those who equated wealth with righteousness. These types of persons believed that having more material and financial wealth meant that a person was more righteous than someone who didn't have these things. So, they would accumulate things and in essence, they believed this proved their own value and worth to God. Sounds a lot like what we see today. "Name it and claim it" pulpit theology which empowers people to "get all they can in Jesus name" is a spiritual scam. This is called "bad biblical theology" and "false teaching".The Pharisees were slaves to greed. Jesus Messiah made it clear that material wealth stored away on Earth is subject to rust, decay and even theft. Don't put your trust in it. Temporary pursuits and investments do not create righteousness. 

Understand Friends, Jesus is speaking more about the "heart and desire" than he is about "wealth".  When Jesus is Savior and Lord of a person's life, the mission changes, the passion has a new foundation, the scales have fallen from our eyes, and now we see natural things through a spiritual biblical lens. 

Storing up treasures in heaven comes from a heart of obedience; a desire to do things pleasing to the Lord. This person is intent on serving God through serving others. Remember that good works are a product of a being a born-again believer, not the requirement to become one. God doesn't need our good works, "our neighbor does". So when we act on behalf of God to serve those around us, this glorifies God. All that you do, do to the glory of God. 

The Holy Script is clear, "where your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will be also". It's easy to see where a person's desire is placed when you see what is most valuable to them.

Serve like Christ did. 

Be God-focused as Christ was. 

Do the will of the Father.

8/21/25 Good morning, Friends,  1 Thessalonians 4:11 -11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet 🤫 life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, Everybody these days wants to shine.
