Good morning, Friends,
Proverbs 10:19 -19 When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who holds back his lips has insight.
We’ve all been there—talked too much, said the wrong thing, or made a situation worse by adding words we didn’t need to. Sometimes our mouths 🗣️ run faster 💨 than our brains 🧠, and before we know it, damage is done. This proverb reminds us: too many words usually lead to trouble. Wisdom knows when to stay quiet.
Think about it:
- Arguments that drag on only get more heated.
- Oversharing can turn people against you.
- Running your mouth in the wrong place can cost you relationships, respect, or even opportunities.
But the person who holds back from "yapping", who knows when to listen 👂🏾 when to observe 👀, when to stay silent 🔕, now that’s a person with real insight. Silence can be strength 💪🏾. Patience can be wisdom.
Where are you speaking too quickly or too much? Is it in arguments, gossip, social media, or defending yourself when you don’t need to?
Friends, remember that in Christ, you don’t always have to fight for the last word. You don’t have to win every argument. You don’t have to prove yourself. God has already spoken the final Word over you: forgiven, loved, redeemed.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say… is nothing at all. Let your wisdom be seen not just in your words, but in your ability to hold them back.
🗣️ Need I say more?
You already know what time ⏰ it is!
