Good morning, Beloved of God, 

James 5:16 NLT
[16] Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

James isn’t just throwing out a nice "church saying" I'm this verse, he’s calling us to something real, something authentic. We live in a world that tells us to keep our business private, put on a strong face, and handle things ourselves. But God flips that: healing flows through humility.

Confession isn’t about giving people ammunition to destroy or hurt you, it’s about dragging your sin into the light where it loses power. When you open up to a brother or sister in Christ, you’re saying, “I need God’s grace, and I need your help.” That’s NOT weakness. That’s the strength of the gospel working in real life.

Prayer, too, isn’t just some bland, lifeless ritual. James says it’s powerful. The “righteous man” here isn’t the guy who’s perfect, but the one clothed in Christ’s righteousness and walking in repentance. That means when you and I, (although broken, but saved) pray with faith, heaven moves. God hears. Things change. Be careful that you don't only look for change in the situation, but be intentional in looking for the change in you!

We know what it means to fight for survival, to hustle, to push through pressure. James is saying: fight like that in prayer. Go hard before the throne of grace. Don’t just scroll through the verses, sigh, and move on with your day. No, this is the place to drop your burdens on God. Intercede for your people, your community, your family. Pray with expectation !!!! 

Bottom line: Confess honestly: Find a trusted brother/sister and be real about your struggles. Pride blocks 🚫⛔healing; humility unlocks 🔓it.

Pray 🙏🏾 aggressively: Don’t mumble half-hearted prayers like you're being forced, cry out like someone who believes God is bigger than the situation, bigger than the brokenness.

Stand in faith: Remember, Christ’s blood covers you. That’s your confidence when you pray.

Don't be discouraged. If it was easy, everybody will be doing it. But it's a challenge, so embrace the challenge, and give God your best!

May the Lord help us to be humble enough to confess and bold enough to pray "Yahweh, kill my pride and strengthen my faith. Use my prayers not just to change me, but to shake my surroundings for Your glory. Amen.”
