Good morning, Friends,
John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
Life can feel like chaos, especially during this time of the year. The unexpected happens, relationships can get strained, uncertainty at work, bad news that just hits out of nowhere. Sometimes we hunt for peace the way people search for loose change under the couch cushions, scrambling, hoping, stretching for anything that might calm us for a moment. But Jesus speaks about this type of restless reality, giving us a different kind of promise. He tells His disciples, right before His arrest, humiliation, and crucifixion, that He is giving them His peace, a peace the world can’t offer and can’t take away.
Check it out, this peace is not rooted in positive thinking, emotional manipulation, or self-made stability. It flows from the character of God Himself. Christ can give us true peace because He reigns with absolute sovereignty, nothing touches your life unless it passes through the hands of the One who loves you, chose you, and redeemed you. His peace is anchored in the eternal plan of God, secured through the blood of the cross, and applied to our hearts by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. That means the peace Jesus gives isn’t soft and fragile. It isn’t dependent on your mood, your bank account, or how “good” your day is going. It is grounded in God’s unchanging purposes.
Let's stop tryna create our own peace through controlling things/people, or with devices of comfort, or avoidance. The world gives peace like a loan (you know about them loans), they are short-term, unstable, and always demanding something back. Christ gives peace as a gift, it's permanent, undeserved, and overflowing from His grace. When Jesus says, “Do not let your heart be troubled,” He isn't tryna dismiss what you're going through; He is inviting you to rest in what He has already secured. You are not commanded to calm your heart by your own strength but by trusting the One who holds all things together.
Friends, no matter what storm is raging around you, or inside you, Jesus has already gone ahead of it, already conquered the sin beneath it, and already promised His presence through it. His peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ Himself. So remember today that the Savior who spoke these words on His way to the cross now speaks them over you: “My peace I give to you.”
You know what time ⏰ it is!!!
