Devotional Reading - February 11, 2026

2/11/26

Good morning, Friends,

1 Peter 5:8–9 [8] Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. [9] Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

Peter is not speaking to comfortable people. He’s writing to believers who are pressured, misunderstood, and suffering for their faith. And he doesn’t sugarcoat it at all. He straight up says: you have an enemy. The devil is not a myth, not a figure of speech or symbol for bad vibes, or  “negative energy.” He is an adversary, an opponent; he's intentional and strategic. Satan is actively against you. And when Peter says he “prowls around like a roaring lion,” he’s painting a picture of danger. Lions don’t roam for fun, they hunt to devour. The enemy’s goal isn’t to annoy you, it’s to destroy your faith, kill your witness, and pull you away from Christ.

That’s why Peter says, “Stay alert and watch out” Don’t drift off spiritually. A sober mind means you’re clear-headed, not controlled by fear, pride, anger, lust, or distraction. Being watchful means that you pay attention to what’s influencing you, what you’re feeding your mind, what voices you’re listening to, what compromises you’re making excuses for. The enemy doesn’t only come through blatant and obvious evil. Nah, he comes through small subtle lies: “It’s not that serious.” “You deserve this.” “No one will know.” And that’s exactly how people get devoured....not by explosion, but inch by inch.

But we DON'T FOLD!!!!! Peter doesn’t say, “Run away and hide.” He says, “Stand firm against him.” That means you’re not helpless or a whiner. Friends, in Christ, you are not prey.  You don’t fight the devil with talking loud or being all overly emotional, nah fam, you stand firm in what you know is true. You stand on God’s Word. You stand on the finished work of Christ. You stand knowing that Jesus already crushed the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15) and disarmed the rulers and authorities at the cross (Colossians 2:15). The enemy may roar like a lion, but he is NOT sovereign. God is.

Check out this last point, Peter adds something real reassuring and comforting: “Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” In other words, you are not the only one fighting. You’re not crazy. You’re not singled out. Believers all over the world face pressure, temptation, spiritual attacks on all sides and they’re still standing by grace. That should strengthen you. The Christian life is not easy, but it is shared. You are part of a worldwide family, and more importantly, you are kept by a faithful Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4).

So, family, the bottom line is that we can’t afford to live a casual Christianity. We can’t treat sin lightly. We can’t blame everything on “stress” when some of it is spiritual warfare. At the same time, we don’t panic. We don’t live in fear of demons behind every corner. We live alert, grounded, and confident, because our victory is rooted in Christ, not in our own strength.

Buckle up, buttercup! 🎢 💨

You know what time ⏰ it is!!!

Devotional Reading - December 16, 2025

12/16/25 Good morning, Friends,  Acts 4:12 - [12] And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. BOLDNESS! In the chapter before this, Peter heals a man who had been disabled his whole life. The crowd is amazed. Everyone’s staring at Peter and John like they’re the heroes. But Peter shuts all that down immediately. He tells them straight up: “This wasn’t us. This was God working through Jesus Christ.” Peter refuses the spotlight and points all the credit where it belongs. That’s the same bold truth behind this verse, Jesus Christ alone saves. No exceptions. No substitutes. No backup plans. Peter is standing in front of religious leaders who believed they were right with God because of rules, traditions, and family history. And Peter doesn’t sugarcoat it. He tells them clearly: none of that saves you. Not religion. Not good behavior. Not being sincere. Not choosing another spiritual lane. Only J...

8/21/25 Good morning, Friends,  1 Thessalonians 4:11 -11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet 🤫 life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, Everybody these days wants to shine. Social media has people chasing likes, clout, and attention, trying to be seen instead of just being faithful. But the Word of God cuts through all that noise: “Lead a quiet life. Mind your business. Work with your hands.” That’s not flashy. That won’t go viral. But that’s the grind God respects. See, real strength isn’t in being loud, it’s in being steady. Paul’s saying, stop being thirsty for the spotlight, stop running your mouth in other people’s affairs, and stop leaning on folks when you could be putting in your own work. Truth is, mooching off others while you got the ability to grind is lazy, and laziness is sin. God gave you gifts, skills, and breath in your lungs so use them. Don’t be that person always asking but never giving, always watching b...

9/10/25 Good morning, Friends, Psalm 69:1 LSB [1] Save me, O God, For the waters have threatened my life. Have you ever felt like life was drowning you? Like problems kept piling up 📈, bills, stress, health, relationships, and no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t keep your head above water? That’s exactly how David felt when he wrote ✍🏾 this verse. He wasn’t talking about actual water 🌊, he was describing the feeling of being overwhelmed and sinking fast. Instead of trying to fight 🥊 through it on his own, David cried out to God: “Save me, O God.” That’s the turning point. When we reach the end of ourselves, God is still strong enough to lift us up. Let's keep it 💯 with God. You don’t have to fake it with Him. If you’re struggling, tell Him straight up. He can handle your honest prayers. Depend on Him!! You don’t have to do life alone or in your own strength. God is able to rescue, comfort, and steady you when you feel like you’re going under. If you fee...
